  1. BobberKnob says:

you need to learn HTML before you get into XHTML.

Then you can learn CSS, PHP or ASP.NET, and Javascript.

Don’t worry about Java or C if you’re making websites. Not everyone has JVM on their machine, and PHP does everything you could think of hoping to do with C for the most part.

Java and C aren’t usually used for websites, so you won’t need to learn those.

Learn HTML first. It’s simple markup that every web designer must know.

The next step is xHTML, which just sets stricter standards for HTML. It’s exactly the same except for some tighter syntax leashes.

Then learn CSS for styling. http://www.w3schools.com/css/

Then learn Javascript and Ajax for interactivity. http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/default.asp

Then learn PHP or ASP for dynamics. http://www.w3schools.com/PHP/DEfaULT.asP http://www.w3schools.com/asp/default.asp

Then learn MySQL for working with databases. http://www.tizag.com/mysqlTutorial/
